Interview with Anikó Gálya,
Managing Director
of At-Home Network Real Estate

First of all, congratulations on the 20th anniversary! How does it feel knowing that At-Home has been helping clients find and sell homes for two decades?

Anikó Gálya: Honestly, I feel a bit nostalgic. These twenty years have been filled with challenges, valuable lessons, and, most importantly, countless successes and amazing people. When we started out in 2004, our main goal was to provide professional real estate services, primarily to expats and international clients. I never imagined back then that it would become such an essential part of my life. Today, At-Home Budapest is not just a company — it's a true community where everyone works with heart and soul.

Over the years, there must have been difficult times as well. What were the biggest challenges you faced?

Anikó Gálya: Real estate is a constantly changing market, so we've had to adapt to economic crises, shifting trends, and evolving client needs. The 2008 financial crisis was a major test for us, but we managed to pull through. COVID-19 was another major turning point; everything changed overnight. Unfortunately, due to the pandemic, we had to close our Vienna office, which was a very difficult but necessary decision. Similarly, we no longer have an office in Moscow, largely due to geopolitical changes.

Currently, we are active in Budapest, Prague, and Bratislava, and we continue our mission to deliver professional real estate services to our clients in these cities. Since 2020, we’ve also expanded our services in Budapest to include property management, offering full-scale support to property owners, from rentals and maintenance to administrative tasks.

These were significant challenges, but I firmly believe that challenges make us stronger — and that certainly applies to the At-Home team. Together, we always find a solution!

How do you view the current real estate market and the future?

Anikó Gálya: Right now, the Budapest real estate market is growing dynamically, especially in the premium segment. Expats and international investors continue to show great interest in Hungarian properties. Moving forward, we aim to place even more focus on digitalization and sustainability, to offer modern, client-centered solutions. We also want to provide even more personalized services, ensuring that our clients feel at home with us from the very first contact.

Is there a particular moment in At-Home’s history that you are especially proud of?

Anikó Gálya: There are so many! But if I had to highlight one, it would be the incredible team we've built over the years. We're not just colleagues — we are like a big family, united by our commitment to quality and trust.
I’m also extremely proud that many clients return to us even after several years. To me, that is the greatest affirmation that we are truly creating value.

What message would you like to send to your clients and colleagues on this special anniversary?

Anikó Gálya: I am incredibly grateful to everyone! To our clients, thank you for your trust — without you, we wouldn't be here today. And to my team: I am so proud of you, and I can’t wait to continue writing the At-Home Network story together. I believe the next 20 years will be just as full of success and wonderful moments!
