How to relocate with pets
Hungarian regulations are less strict than in some places in the world, but still you need to have basic documentations. You will be fine and avoid quarantine for your pet as long as the following standards are met.
- Pet Microchip
- Rabies Vaccination
- Rabies Titer Test
- Tapeworm Treatment - Dogs Only
- Health Certificate

Living In and Out with furry pals
Sometimes you are a cat person and have little to no problem leaving her behind at home. But when you are not and prefer to keep company with your canine friend a lot it’s not always easy to have have her with you if you live in the city. Life also can be quite stressful at times so you need to take some time off every now and then, you should have a coffee, have lunch or a glass of cool lemonade to chill out a bit. Budapest offers more and more opportunities for dogs and there are great places where pets are welcome too.
Parks, CAFÉS AND RESTAURANTS FOR URBAN PUPPIES
- Városliget is the largest community place in Budapest and also one of the first public parks in the world with plenty of places to eat out.
- Városmajor a spacious green area on the Buda side on the verge of district 2 and 12.
- Margit-sziget is a an island in the city center covered by a huge landscape park with eat-out and sports options making it a popular recreational area.
Note: Kopaszi-gát let it be as popular as it is unfortunately is a place where dogs are not welcome!
Kertem
is situated in
Városliget and one can say it is a must with dogs. Very dog-friendly, offers toys, jungle, and hidden little blotters for them. For the masters a glass of beer, soda or a balkan burger always feels nice after spending quite some time in the park just walking. Last but not least this place is full of dog-friendly folks and of course other dogs are always around to play with.
located on Pozsonyi street - a place where probably the greatest number of dog-people live in Central East Europe. The place gives a garden feeling in the middle of the city with culinary experiences. It's a really nice place if you want chill out or just want chating with friends and you will sure feel the Parisian feeling with your dogo too.
If you need more than just a coffee, no problem. You can take your dog with you to even the mall. Allee in the 11th has the perfect pet-policy and welcomes all behaved dogs to most of its stores.
